1 The Stockholm Archipelago: Sprickopp
The island of Sprickopp in the Stockholm Archipelago was the kind of place that needed a map drawn of it to better define the area beyond which the story didn’t need to go.
The island’s coastline was easy enough to sketch in, with the sudden change between land and water unable to be mistaken for anything else. But everything else she put onto her map was very subjective, more a description of herself than a map of anything else - her very own micro-climate with a wooden house painted red, that had windows more suited for a dolls house than modern living.
Somehow Sprickopp still managed to sidestep a reliable mobile phone connection. The island was one of the few places left where the Universe was simplified into two things - here, and everywhere else, and here didn’t need much in the way of elsewhere else. It was the main reason why she’d chosen it.
